In February 2024 the Orange County District Attorney reported that Elias Segoviano of Brea, who pleaded guilty in April 2023 to 13 felony counts of unauthorized practice of medicine, had been charged again after allegedly trying to open a new Botox business. California Business and Professions Code §2259.8 says an elective cosmetic surgery procedure may not be performed unless the patient has had an appropriate physical examination and written clearance within the 30 days before, confirmed as up to date on the day of surgery.
